Uplift You was founded on the foundation of sustainable Livelihoods. Our main mission is to uplift needy and/or underprivileged individuals become self-sufficient. We equip them with resources and opportunities that empowers them to achieve social and financial stability. We strongly believe in the following quote “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. Our Sustainable Livelihoods programs are proven to work and provides a long-term solution to empower poor and underprivileged communities to become self-sufficient.

How it works?

1. We get request to help a family with Sustainable Livelihoods. 2. We assess the request to determine if they meet the criteria to be eligible. 3. If they meet the criteria, our team assess their skill set & area of strengths. 4. We provide them with tools/resources based on their skill set & strengths. 5. Our team continues to track the project to understand the measure of success.

Current Sustainable Livelihoods Programs:

Rickshaw

Three wheeled environment-friendly Cycle Rickshaw is one of the primary means of transport in the urban areas of many Asian countries. Rickshaw drivers usually rent and pay the owner. Rickshaw drivers find it very hard to come out of the poverty due to the inadequate earnings. Uplift Sustainable Livelihoods aims to help poor Rickshaw drivers to own Rickshaw so they can earn more money to support their family needs. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

TomTom CNG

TomTom CNG is one of means of transport in the urban areas of many Asian countries. CNG drivers usually rent and pay the owner, which makes it very difficult for the driver to come out of the cycle of poverty due to inadequate earnings. Uplift You donors have donated 2 brothers with Electric CNG TomTom to make them self-sufficient. Today both brothers drive in 2 shifts enabling them to earn $10 per shift. Both brothers now able to support their family needs and continue to sustain. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

Food Cart

Food cart business is very popular in the street of both urban and rural areas of many Asian countries. Many Food vendors including women vendors use the Food cart to sell tea, snacks, fruits, vegetables, foods, and other products to the consumer at a reasonable price. Uplift Sustainable Livelihoods aims to help Food vendors specially women vendors to own Food Cart so they can earn more money to support their family needs. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

Cow and Calf

Many farmers in the rural area use cow for farming and for milk production. Uplift You provided 2 families with 2 cows, 2 goats, and a calf. With this gift, both families can produce milk and sell it at the local bazar. One of the cows gave birth to a calf. Uplift Sustainable Livelihoods aims to continue to help farmers to own cows and calf so they can earn more money by selling milk and reproduced more calf to support their family needs. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

Computer

Many countries around the world now provides IT Freelancing services. Bangladesh has 600000 IT freelancers (largest freelancing community). People are adapting to innovation and new technology. Many needy and underprivileged students still lack access to a computer preventing them from accessing the freelancing world. Uplift Sustainable Livelihoods aims to gift a computer to a poor and underprivileged student so they can earn more money by providing Freelancing services to support their family. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

Sewing Machine

As the garment industry is booming in the South Asian countries, the demand for sewing tailor is increasing as well. Poor women often given limited opportunities in the workforce. Uplift Sustainable Livelihoods aims to provide poor and underprivileged women with a sewing machine training and sewing machine so they can earn money for their household. Uplift You vision is to alleviate poverty and hunger by providing essentials tools/resources to an individual who is living below poverty.

1. TomTom CNG (2 poor unemployed young brothers received TomTom CNG). 2. Cow & Calf (Disabled farmer received cow & calf). 3. Wheelchair (Blind & Disabled elderly women received a wheelchair). 4. Dough mixer machine & delivery van (Widow received Dough machine & delivery van). 5.
